SFURTI (Haldi Cluster Project)

SFURTI (Scheme of Fund for Regeneration of Traditional Industries) is designed to revitalize heritage industries and artisanal communities through cluster-based development. COWE implements the Haldi (Turmeric) Cluster Project under SFURTI to empower women involved in turmeric cultivation and processing. This includes training in organic farming, quality control, value addition, packaging, branding, and marketing. The project also sets up common facility centers for drying, grinding, testing, and storage, improving production efficiency and product standardization.

COWE plays the role of a Nodal Agency that bridges the gap between grassroots entrepreneurs and government support. Through this initiative, women are able to scale operations, gain direct market access, and command better prices. The project not only promotes rural entrepreneurship but also preserves India’s traditional turmeric trade while encouraging innovation and sustainability.
