Entrepreneurship Development and other Training Programmes 2008

• Food Counseling Program: On 6th, 7th and 8th February 2008 COWE Counseled individual entrepreneurs on projects relating to manufacturing of Food Products.
• Entrepreneurship Development Program : 28th January 2008 to 23rd February 2008 for motivating women to become entrepreneurs and educating them on various aspects of Industry and business.
• Food Entrepreneurship Development Program a four week training program was jointly organized by COWE and State Bank Of Hyderabad successfully from 1st July2008 – 26th July2008 at COWE premises.
  

IMEXPRO 2008, Srilanka

• Ceylon Chambers of Commerce had organized a promotional Trade Fair in Colombo between 14th and 16th of February 2008. COWE delegation participated with much gusto.
• Members participated in the Trade Fair and established contacts in person, interacted with other Chambers and got support from the Chambers and the Indian High Commission in Srilanka.
• B2B opportunities and direct retail trading opportunities at the trade fair made the visit immensely useful for the delegates
  
  
  International Women’s Day 2008:
  8th March 2008 - Managing Committee and Executive Committee Members’ meeting as held. Discussions about ongoing work, COWE’s achievements and COWE’s future plans were followed by games and good food. Members celebrated the growth, shared experiences and collated individual strengths and acknowledged the entrepreneurship qualities of fellow members. Sujatha Burla, a paraplegic was honoured with life-time membership by COWE in appreciation of her being an inspiration to others as an entrepreneur despite challenging situations. This was announced on the eve of International Women’s Day.

Bhoomi Pooja of COWE’s Automative Industrial Park

• COWE's first Automotive Industrial Park Bhoomi Puja was performed and foundation Stone laid by our Chief Guest Dr.J.Geeta Reddy, Hon'ble Minister for Major Industries, Sugar, Commerce & Export Promotion, on Wednesday 25th June, 2008 at APIIC Automotive Park, Kalakal Village, Toopran Mandal, Medak District.
• Guests of Honour were Mr.B.Som Bob, IAS, Principal Secretary, Industries & Commerce Dept, Mr.B.P.Acharya, IAS, Chairman & Managing Director, APIIC.
• 23 entrepreneurs will be setting up their Industries in this Automotive Park which was hitherto a male bastion.
  
  
  
  

• during exhibitions were dealt with. This was organized with an aim to help our members participating in the exhibition, to take advantage of their presence in the COWE’s Trade Carnival and other exhibitions that they participate in.
• Intensive Course on India’s Exports: The International Trade Facilitation Centre of FAPCCI, Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry organized a 15 day intensive course on India's Exports including Export Marketing and Trade Finance commencing on 29th December 2008. COWE members participated and enriched their knowledge base besides getting a certification from FAPPCI.
• Team Building Workshop - This workshop was conducted by COWE on 1st November 2008 at Kiran Enclave for our executive committee and our managing committee and members. COWE’s aim to work as a strong team and create more sub-comittee teams for specific activities, thereby building a strong organization. The aim is to work focused and in unison to the central goal.
• National Exhibition “MSME EXPO 2008” of the Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises :
• MSME EXPO 2008 was held on 14 – 27 November 2008 in Hall No.15, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. COWE members participated under a common platform, as a COWE pavilion.

COWE’s Trade Carnival 2008
COWEs Trade Carnival on 4th to 7th Sept 2008: Was organized at People’s Plaza, Necklace Road, Hyderabad. Propelled by the success of the first Trade Carnival in 2007, the Trade Carnival 2008 was set up with much enthusiasm. 150 stalls were set up with people coming from all parts of the country. Nigerian delegates also participated. The Trade Carnival is a unique annual event where hard core businesses gain mileage and start ups reach out to overseas businesses. This Carnival was a good platform for our members for showcasing their products. COWE Pavillion provided the interested visitors with projects and counseling. Entertainment Programmes had been integrated into the event to give it a mix of trade and festivity.

• Third Annual General Body Meeting of the Members of Confederation of Women Entrepreneurs was held on 27th day of September, 2008 at Sailing Club Annexe, Tank Bund Road, Secunderabad.
• The Change in Managing Committee was announced after the annual accounts were tabled and approved. Ms.Suman Kumar handed over charge to her successor Ms.Uma Gurkha as President for the ensuing period 2008-2010. The Outgoing President will continue to be part of the Managing Committee as per the organizational structure of COWE.
• The outgoing President gave a report on the two years’ activity. The incoming President outlined the future programmes and solicited support and emphasized on consolidation and growth. The new Managing Committee 2008-2010 was announced.
• Members who joined in the last quarter were introduced followed by lunch and entertainment.
